Custom Synthesis and Characterization of Peptides
The University of Wisconsin
Biotechnology Center offers custom peptide synthesis and characterization
of peptides. Automated syntheses are performed using an Applied Biosystems
Synergy 432A, ABI Pioneer or a Protein Technologies Symphony instrument.
Standard syntheses are carried out at 25-2000 µmole scale with the
choice of either free carboxyl or amide at the C-terminus. Synthetic peptides
are furnished in cleaved and deprotected form as lyophilized powders.
Analytical HPLC characterization and mass spectrometry are supplied as
part of the basic service. Purification by HPLC is also available at either
a semi-preparative scale (10 mg column load) or at preparative scale (up
to 100 mg column load). Synthesis of modified peptides is available,
including insertion of non-standard amino acids, biotin or fluorescence
labeling, cyclic peptides and incorporation of stable isotopes.
